1. Tri-screw solves the feeding problem of high mesh fillers.

Traditional twin-screw production of this kind of filled masterbatch has only one meshing zone, and the shearing force and the number of times of shearing cannot achieve the desired effect. Therefore, a large screw aspect ratio is required to break the agglomeration effect of the particles. And the amount of filler is difficult to exceed 90%, otherwise it will cause uneven dispersion due to weak shearing effect and abnormal shutdown due to excessive instantaneous torque; if the mixing is not uniform in a high mixer, go to double It is also difficult to achieve uniform dispersion in the screw. When traditional twin-screws are used to produce highly-filled masterbatches, CaCO3 must be fully activated before entering the mainframe in order to reach a qualified product. The three-screw has multiple meshing zones, and the mixing ability is relatively strong. The requirements for the high-stirring process are not very harsh, which reduces the difficulty of operation.


2. The three-screw can reduce the amount of lubricant in the filler masterbatch formulation system and increase the amount of inorganic fillers, thereby reducing material costs.

It is difficult to add more than 90% of the traditional twin-screw filler, otherwise it will cause uneven dispersion due to weak shearing effect and abnormal shutdown due to excessive instantaneous torque. The triangular three-screw has three meshing zones, which is equivalent to three pairs of twin-screws running at the same time. The shearing times of the material in it are doubled than the twin-screws. Under the same screw aspect ratio, the mixing effect is double-screws. 3 times, each component can be easily homogenized and micronized, and the materials are fully exchanged and flowed on multiple levels in space to achieve a good plasticizing and dispersing effect.


3. The performance of the filled masterbatch produced by the three-screw extruder is better.

The surface of the filler strip is smooth, and there is no poor dispersion phenomenon common in traditional twin-screw extruders. The tensile strength, bending strength and impact strength of the bar are significantly improved compared to twin screw extrusion. Under the same formulation system, the quality of the finished product is higher than that of twin-screw extrusion. Under the same quality requirements, the three-screw can increase the amount of filler and reduce the amount of lubricant, thereby greatly reducing its cost.


4. The screw extruder is more energy efficient and more productive.

When producing and processing the above-mentioned CaCO3 / PP and CaCO3 / PE filled master batches, a TE-75 machine made in Nanjing is used to achieve an output of 20T / day, and the main machine current is close to 180A. LTS-52, the host current is only 69A when the same output is reached, which means that if the feeding amount is increased, the output can still be increased. Another example is the production of transparent filled master batches, using SJH-60 twin screws, with an output of 8T / day, and the three-screw LTS-52 with the same current, the output can reach 15T / day, and the quality of the product is better. At the same capacity, the space occupied by the model is small, and the model is also small. From the perspective of mechanical loss, it has good space saving and energy saving effects.


In short, it is technically feasible to use the three-screw extrusion process to produce the filled masterbatch. With the same formulation system, the three-screw extrusion process has better quality than the twin-screw extrusion process. Under the same product quality requirements, the cost of the three-screw formulation is greatly reduced. The three-screw can achieve higher twist and higher speed extrusion than the twin-screw, which can meet the high mesh number requirements of CaCO3.
